人,都是自私的。
Everyone just thinks for themselves, isn’t it? It is disappointing that even the people with the most power do that too, though it is expected. The Copenhagen summit, a meeting for the glorified mission to save the Earth, did not result in a conclusion as desired. All we could see is that everyone is only willing to do what is good for them.
Perhaps, the media has sensationalized it, but the meeting seems to be a mega circus, with leaders chasing each other and with leaders refusing to meet each other. It is not surprising that the leaders could not come to an unified conclusion. After all, everyone is looking after his/her country’s benefit. Who cares if an island in the Pacific is sinking? Who cares about El Niño or La Niña? Who cares about greenhouse gases?
Obviously, the big guys don’t. How can one expect something from a country who refuses to be bonded to the Kyoto Protocol? And if the big guys don’t, what’s the use?
