只要是好吃、看起来很可口的东西,我蛮愿意尝试的。

I like cheesecake, but not that crazy over it. Hmm.. Well, there are many things in life I like, but only few things make me crazy over (not sure if I have found them yet though…). Like most people, I fancy cakes in general, especially sponge cakes and cheesecakes, as long as they are not too creamy and not too sweet. Recently, in the hunt for a good cheesecake, I came across many blogs and forums nominating Hilton’s cheesecake as the best in town. It’s the top chessecake on the list of ST Top 50 Yummiest Cakes. As someone who likes good food, I have decided to take a peep at this famous cheesecake when I was in Orchard and I ended up buying a slice of its blueberry version.

The slice costs $7.80 and a whole cake costs $69.95. The price is a bit steep compared to the other bakeries, but (er…) it’s Hilton. The cake tastes really good. Extremely smooth and cheesy, the cake, coupled with the crunchy cookie base, melts easily in the mouth. Being a blueberry cheesecake, it seems to lack of the blueberry taste, apart from the topping. Nonetheless, as the shop is famous for its American Cheesecake, we were fine that we got an American Cheesecake with blueberry topping. The cake is definitely one of the better cheesecakes around, given its smooth texture and delicious, yet not-so-sweet taste. In comparison, the Swissbake’s Oreo Cheesecake we tried immediately after that seems slightly inferior, though it’s still quite good. However, as we continued to conquer the Hilton Cheesecake, it became a tad too rich for us and we struggled to finish the slice. Nonetheless, it’s a really good cake for those who love cheesecake, especially the rich ones =) I still prefer Bakerzin’s though, as it’s not that rich and thus not as filling and 腻.
