Day 1 (Tues, 25/4/06)

Our Cathay Pacific flight to Hong Kong was delayed as the airline combined our flight and a later flight into one. They allowed us to upgrade to a SQ flight, which we happily accepted. Since we had a lot of free time at Changi Airport, we explored the airport and found ourselves at the newly opened budget terminal by taking a free bus ride. The budget terminal really lived up to its name. It was almost bare, save for a few seats, counters and a kopitam. There was nothing else there, and the interior was really “budget”. It is now only used by Tiger Airways, and not other budget airlines. Wonder why..

Reached Hong Kong at around 2.50pm, after all the immigration and luggage check out. Watched 童梦奇缘 and Rumor Has It and enjoyed nice Haagan Dazs on the flight (SQ862). Arrived at our hotel, Kimberley Hotel and our room (Room 1931) at around 5 pm. The room is not very small as compared to usual Hong Kong hotel rooms and after having 3 single beds in the room, there was still room for a sofa and a coffee table. Met Irene, my Finance project mate on exchange from Hong Kong, and she brought us to Shatin, where the Snoopy World is located.

The 3 of us absolutely went wild in the Snoopy World, like small little children, fascinated by almost everything in that place. There are Snoopy & Co all around the place and everything is just so cute.. The weather there was really cooling, a big difference from the hot humid weather in Singapore.

Met Cat, who was Calista’s and Qi Hui’s friend, later and has a scrumptious meal at Fish & Co, where both Calsita and Qi Hui worked. The outside dinner area was very nicely done and the atmosphere was really good. After that, we had dessert at 满记, and I tried the 汤圆. We walked around the shopping centre for sometime before we headed back to our hotel.
