Went to Melissa’s 21st Birthday party last Sat night held at the function room in her condo, Pebble Bay, which was at Tanjong Rhu, where DHS was. Went there with Jia Rong and Li Min. Passed by DHS then and realised that it was about 3 years since I last went to DHS. I have not gone back since I collected my O levels cert.. That’s very long ago. Heard in the news that DHS is going to undergo major renovations next year. Hope they preserve that structure and the pavilion. I think those are the 招牌 images of DHS. In fact, I think DHS is one of the nicest school, in terms of exterior, among the government schools in Singapore. I really like the 古色古香 feel in DHS.. Ya, I know it’s quite china (or chee-na), but that’s what the people think DHS is, isn’t it?
Melissa held a quite grand party for a birthday and invited lots of ppl, including friends and relatives. I don’t know other ppl, but only the 3 of us.. Her parents spent a lot of money on the party, including a gigantic cake, catering of food and the booking of the room. Her mum was quite 热情 and invited us to drink wine. She poured a have cup win for each of us and it was the first time in my life I’ve tasted red wine.. It was quite bitter and left a scorching feeling in my throat after that.. We only drank about half of what she gave and threw the rest away.. Haha.. I don’t think I will hold such parties during my 21st birthday to be honest. Yes, though 21 birthday hold great significance in terms of the lawful things one can do, yet I think that is just it.. It’s nice to hold birthday parties and celebrate with friends and relatives, but I don’t think I will do that.. I only had birthday parties when I was in kindergarden.. But after that, I remembered I only had one during my primary 2 days.. But I still don’t think I will hold one, for I am not a person who will splurge.. and of course, I don’t have that many friends to invite because I’m not a person who socialises a lot..
